It’s time to unveil a new narrator for my Arnold Clover books. I’ve been incredibly lucky to have Richard Armitage as the voice of my work going back more than a decade to the Audible days of Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet.
After that Richard made a stunning job of The Garden of Angels and the first three Clover books. But happily Richard’s career has gone sky-high since then, with acting, writing and a busy round of appearances. It’s amazing he’s found time in the past for me at all.
I’m really grateful for all the support he’s shown over the years, and the lessons I’ve learned about storytelling listening to him narrate and watching him act.
But time moves on so meet Arnold’s new voice… the very talented Owen Findlay.
Owen has voiced a number of audiobooks and dramas for Audible, Bolinda, BBC Radio 4 and others; appeared on stage with the RSC, National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe; and on screen with BBC Films.
He’s also well versed in Italian too, so a perfect voice to take over the role of bringing my Venetian tales to life.
And here you can listen to Owen at work…
The audiobook of The Devil in Dorsoduro will be published simultaneously with the ebook and print editions on May 7, by WF Howes, who’ve been bringing me out in audio for something like a quarter of a century now and always do a fantastic job. You can pre-order in all the usual places now including Audible.
