Venice Noir 2025

Free tickets to Venice Noir now available

Venice Noir 2025 goes live six weeks on Friday… and now you can reserve your free places for the weekend.

Please note there was a timing error in the initial Venice Noir booking page, now corrected. The Don’t Look Now and Casanova sessions don’t clash. First is at 1530 and Casanova is at 1630. So you can book both!

You’ll find all our events, in English and Italian, listed on our Eventbrite page here. Just register for the ones you’d like to attend. This isn’t mandatory. If you haven’t registered you should still be able to find space on the day. But putting your name down now will help us plan in advance and work out the room logistics. So if you are coming please help us out and put your name down then leave the rest to us.

The reservations apply to events in the Ateneo Veneto on the Friday and Saturday and the Hotel Monaco on the Sunday.

I’ll be writing a more detailed guide to Venice Noir nearer the event. But one session in particular I’d like to point out. This is our closing reception from 12 to 1pm on Sunday November 16. You can get your free tickets for that here.

This will take place in the Ridotto room of the Hotel Monaco next to Harry’s Bar near the Vallaresso stop just by the Piazza San Marco.

The Ridotto in the Hotel Monaco

This was once the infamous casino of the Venetian Republic, the very place Casanova used to work the tables. It’s rarely open to the public — and on this occasion for free. So I hope you will find the time to join the authors and organisers of Venice Noir at our farewell reception.

Select… the key ingredient for the true Venetian spritz

The event is hosted by one of our many generous sponsors, here the makers of Select, the bitter that goes into the only true Venetian spritz. So you’ll have the chance to take your leave of the festival with a genuine local drink.

And we will be unveiling the spectacular new Venice Noir award, a beautiful sculpture in Murano glass, designed by the Australian artist Amy Thai and crafted by the historic Barovier & Toso ARTE company which dates back to a decree issued by the Republic of Venice in 1455, when Angelo Barovier was granted the exclusive right to produce ‘Cristallo Veneziano’ (Venetian Crystal). This will be awarded annually to an Italian or international author we feel has made a significant contribution to the genre.

The first winner will be announced during the reception. You wouldn’t want to miss it.
